Boyadgian is an artist of Armenian descent whose research based projects explore perception, history, heritage, territory, architecture and landscape. He works in a variety of media and his field of enquiry is urban sociology in post-conflict areas. Painting and drawing are, however, his primary tools of investigation which are often contextualised by means of site-specific installations. Born and raised in Jerusalem, his work is strongly influenced by the historical and sociopolitical vicissitudes of this contested land, which are regularly directly addressed or evoked in his work.
