Joana Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige are a duo of filmmakers and artists who have been collaborating since 1990. Their work includes feature and documentary films, video and photographic installations, sculpture, performance, lectures and texts. Hadjithomas and Joreige’s approach to art-making and thinking generally entails a long period of research. In many cases they revisit the same subject matter over the years from different angles and perspectives. Their research based practice systematically focuses on the analysis and interpretation of images and documentation (or the lack thereof) that sits at the intersection between collective trauma and amnesia.
